B&B houseboat Ms. Luctor

Who are you?
Marjan Vos is working for EYE, the dutch film museum in Amsterdam, and Flip Filz is a free-lance writer/actor. On flips website (in Dutch) and Eye film institute you can get an idea....

Does the boat rocks a lot, could I get seasick?
No, the movements of this houseboat are rare and hardly noticeable.

How long can I take a shower?
As long as you want, the hot water supply is endless. Only consider the environment though… Towels, soap, a hair dryer and bath robes are provided.
The electric energy for your rooms comes from solar pannels. And the additional electricity we are supplied with from the grid is "green"!

How are the rooms heated?
We have a central heating system, the same as used in houses, even at sub zero temperatures the apartment is very warm and comfortable.

What about extra facilities?
We have ADSL, and there is wifi. A fridge also. Bikes and canoe included. No cleaning costs.
Because noice is no problem we often accomodate musicians who need to practice.

And one of our best features, the eco tour!

At what time is breakfast served?
Within reason when you would like it. Somewhere between 8 and 10.15. We bring it into the wheelhouse. Everything is fresh and organic, only the croisants are oldfashioned and dangerously tasteful. We get them fresh evey morning at Amsterdams best croisanterie: Mediteranee. There is also a fridge with some local beers and mineral water ready for you (on the house).

Can I smoke?
No, not inside! But there is an enormous jetty (5 x 35 metres) were you can sit and smoke...

(Public) transport?
A busstop is less than 100 metres away, (bus nr 45, two stops), but we have bikes as well and you can walk to central station in 10 minutes. From there on you can catch all trams, busses, trains and the metro. The train to/from Schiphol airport takes about 22 minutes and a taxi does it in the same time, it costs around 30 euro.
Parking your car is rather expensive, the solution: parking your car Park outside the center and get easy transport into town.

From what time can I check in?
Normally from 13.00 hours, but if we have had no other guests the previous day, earlier is possible. You can always drop of your lugage earlier, if that suits you.

And how about checking out?
11.00 o'clock, but again, most of the time it is possible to leave your luggage and pick it up later during the day.

Is it gay friendly?
Yes!

What part of the city are you in?
In the center, the canal district, but the location itself, Westerdok, is quiet. Shops, restaurants, cinema, theatre and café's are around the corner. Anne Frank house for example is on bike 7 minutes away. Check the location button to see more details...

Do the rates go down if I stay a week or longer, or if I don't want breakfast?
Yes they do! Contact us for specifics.

In what way is your enterprise green?
The electricity for the B&B comes from solar power, we use enery saving light bulbs, take water saving measures like special shower heads, use rain water in situations where no drinking water is required, energy saving measures like double glass an isolation. Provide you with CO2 neutral ways of transport: free bicycles and a a canoe. Your breakfast has quite some organic products too...
